Parent participation in the Mater Dei Parents & Friends' Association is strongly encouraged. The P&F generally meet on the second Monday of each term. These dates are advertised in the school's newsletter and will also be noted on the school's calendar which can be accessed via this website, the Parent Portal and the BCE Connect App. All parents and friends in our community are invited to attend these meetings as well as the Annual General Meeting which is held in November each year.
The P&F is responsible for organising tuckshop volunteers, fundraising, and social activities. The P&F's aim is to support the school in providing a quality education of all children enrolled at the school. It also provides a forum for parents to discuss issues, and also raise money for resources and projects. The Association is involved in a range of activities that help to develop a sense of community at Mater Dei.

The P&F at Mater Dei also play a leading role in the running of the Mater Dei Dance School (which is open to the wider community. This is a valued service to the school and assists in the development of the Mater Dei community.
The P&F operates within a constitution adopted by Catholic Schools Parents Queensland. Each year a P&F committee is elected at the Annual General Meeting.
